What is a slug?
A slug is the unit of mass for the English measurement system and is independent of the location of the mass with respect to the acceleration due to gravity. A slug equals the weight in pounds force divided by the gravitational variable. At sea level for most places on Earth the gravitational variable is approximately 32.17, but a high altitudes the gravitational variable can be significantly less. This is why the computer programs by the Analysis Guru use the slug value.
